The assessment has been devised to enable the learner to demonstrate a broad
range of skills as per the learning outcomes.
1. Formative Assessment Activity
The coursework is intended to get students to engage intellectually with key concepts and theoretical approaches that are current or emerging within the field of HRD.
Students will write a literature review, in relation to one of the following theoretical
perspectives on learning:
• Self- Directed Learning
• Experiential learning theory
• Situated learning theory
• Knowledge sharing/ creation
• Online learning
If there is another area of learning theory you would like to look at yourself that is not included in the list above, you can make a case to the module leader to explore that particular topic. This needs to be agreed by Week 4, so please e mail [email protected], you put forward your preferred topic if it is not one of
the above.
It is expected that the literature review will be no more than 2000 words – t(his will be
the key way to check the students against learning objective 6).
2. Case Study Report
Students will be given a case study, or a situation to find a case study around.
Students will be expected to write a report applying the training cycle methods and
designing interventions around a problem/situation.
