Formative assessment on the key themes will be through working with the student in
groups or individually during seminars, providing feedback to students on formative
work produced.
There are 4 elements to the portfolio:
a. Westminster Employability Award: Provide a certification of completion
b. Reflective essay (750 words): on a Mock application for a real graduate job
(please provide screen shot) in Marketing or any area of your choice, with an
accompanying write-up on:
Why this job?
What skills are required?
What skills have you developed over the last 2 years?
What skills will you need to develop to close any gaps for this particular
job?
c. Reflective essay (750 words): What did I learn from the mentoring and how
does this relate to leadership?
d. Reflective Essay (2500 words): Developing My Leadership Approach in the
Field of Marketing and Management
Learning Outcomes Addressed:
The portfolio assesses all of the four learning outcomes on the module:
LO1 Seek and apply new techniques and processes to own their performance and
identify how this might be evaluated in the context of employability and leadership.
LO2 Work with ideas at a level of abstraction, arguing from competing perspectives
and identify the possibility of new concepts using existing knowledge frameworks
and approaches as taught on the module.
LO3 Take responsibility for own learning and development using reflection and
feedback to analyse own capabilities and to appraise alternatives and develop plans
and implement actions.
LO4 Reflect on learning, integrating relevant theory and concepts from the module,
relating this to their evidence when applying for graduate roles or further education.
