Here are the details of your individual (or Group) assignment (due at the start of class – week 5).
Each student will select an Australian listed public company from the ASX200.

You will identify the major audit risk areas (at least 2) for your selected company.
For each audit risk, your assignment should:
• explain the potential impact of the audit risk on the company’s financial statements and
• detail the auditing procedures to verify the account balances impacted by the risk

In this folder I have provided a ‘Marking comments’ document which I use to assist me in marking your
assignments.
You should read this as it may give you a few pointers which will help in writing your assignment –
particularly presentation.
I have also attached a copy of my (corporate) report writing course which you might also find use – now in
your studies and later on in your careers.

In this folder I have presented three high quality assignments.
Thanks to these students for letting me present their work.
I know they mention ‘audit theory’ (which I’ve told you not to do!) but they only do it
briefly and it is not a main focus of their assignments.
They answer the two parts of the question:
1. The audit risks
2. The audit steps you would undertake in relation to them.
Hopefully your assignments do likewise.
